Final Fantasy XIV - Containment Bay P1T6 Sophia - Warring Triad

Okay...

This one I was honestly very nervous about.... I mean Sephirot wasn't so bad, but he was tough enough, I figured Sophia would be trying to DESTROY everything... but it actually was much easier than I thought once you got it down.

Okay so the biggest key to this battle is WATCH WHERE YOU'RE STANDING!!

She plays out like Leviathan (Extreme), she tilts the floor you're standing on to weigh your judgement and if you're standing on the wrong side... well, you're going for a ride off the edge!

Kill the Adds ASAP and watch your standing, it's LITERALLY that easy, we did it on our second try (once we figured out the tilting method!)

Oh and enjoy the Final Fantasy 6 tunes, I mean man, that brought back some memories, it was awesome.

Final Fantasy XIV - 3.4 Patch Update - Hildibrand Manderville Quest!

I'll try not to give too much away here, (aside from the screenshots, READER BEWARE!)

Hildibrand is always a fun quest to do, I'm still, more or less, waiting for a fun duty to come out of this, but it still hasn't happened yet... maybe in the 3.5 Patch?

Although I was excited to see the name VIVI finally appear.  I love old references to old games... first time I saw Vivi I knew who he was... when they said Gigi I wondered if the creators were going to change it to be Vivi or they were just trying to change up the name a little bit (like they took the H out of Sephiroth).

It was a fun quest, I thoroughly enjoyed this fun tale, especially the 3 old looney bins, that was cute.

Can't wait to see what becomes of all them again (in 3.5).

I will admit, I feel like we were owed a little more but I'll take what we can get!

Final Fantasy XIV - Xelphatol Duty

Okay, this is the easier of the two new Expert Duties...

I actually enjoyed this one, far less mechanics (really none at all if you think about it) and a nice little story line with a taste of the blast from the past!

So let's get down to it and you can enjoy some screenshots of my run through!

So first boss - piece of cake...

Avoid the AoE's (duh) and when he INFLATES, you just kill all the adds and then stand UNDERNEATH HIM.

There's a little circle of air just under where he is, when you blow up the turret an explosion will send you flying into the sky and if you're under him, you'll pop his balloon.

See, what I tell you? Easy!

Second Boss...

Think about Ravana on this one, watch where your back is.  He does a 'Low' attack, which just stay away from... and then he does a 'High' attack.  In that attack you want to make sure you have a wall behind you (looks like a small fence) because he will knock you back, and you can be practically on top of him and it would never matter, he will swing you into the SPIKES if you're not near that wall/fence.

Do that and it's all good for that one.

3rd and Final Boss, just watch the AoEs.  I mean, seriously, how easy is that.  Garuda does make her apperance but she does nothing but trigger the AoEs that you have to avoid.

And then you're done, hurray!  See?  What I tell you? Much easier to deal with!

Enjoy the story line following your Xelphatol Duty run!

Final Fantasy XIV - The Great Gubal Library (Hard) Duty

This was the first Duty I decided to go for... mainly because I was already in the area to get the quest...

Looking back at it, I'm half wishing I didn't and at the same time, glad I did and got it over with.

It has far more mechanics then a normal dungeon, especially the ending boss than I'm used to...

First off, like most dungeons that go 'Hard', you go in the opposite direction than what you did the first time.

In the original Great Gubal Library, you go down towards the basement, now you're racing to the top of the highest room with the most book shelves lol

So if you're wondering about what you need to do as far as mechanics, I'll give you a few hints.

First off, make sure you avoid the AoEs at all cost.  That's really a no brainer but sometimes it's easier said than done.

The first boss you encounter will literally push you out of one AoE, and into another behind you, so you have to be prepared to run right out of it because it is QUICK.

The Second Boss has a Plus and Minus system.  One goes in, one goes out, (But don't touch the sides!) I'll let you figure out which is which, you already have the headstart now to know it's there!

Also, watch your head and the floor!  A coin will appear above it, you have to MATCH your coin to the circle on the floor.  Other than that, it's pretty easy...

The FINAL Boss is a whooolllleee other level.

This thing has ridiculous combinations and multiple things to look out for so I'll go back to the basics - AVOID AoEs

Now what you really need to focus on in the 3rd and Final Boss is what he's casting.

I'll give you some quick labels

If he Casts

Quake ---- Levitate (Blue and White floating circle)

Imp ------- Smaller Blue Circle

Thunder -- STAY OUT OF CIRCLES (Unless you're an imp already, go back to the blue one you used to change into the Imp to change BACK into yourself, then get out of it!)

Darkness - NO CIRCLES, stay out of them!

Tornado -- Leaden (Black Circle)

IF you can follow those, you'll be fine.  Those are just the most confusing thing and I'll tell you, walking into a Duty blind sometimes is the worse thing and the best thing.  It's exciting, yet VERY annoying because you have NO idea what's going on.  But now you all do know so take that and run with it!

Enjoy The Great Gubal Library (Hard) Expert Duty!!
And earn those new Scripture Tomes!!

Final Fantasy XIV - Patch 3.4 Soul Surrender Update! 9/27/2016 **BEWARE** SPOILERS

Hurray!! So the update has finally happened, I am so psyched for this update!

The final sections of Alexander, more Hildibrand quests, a new Containment boss, New Expert Duties, and of coarse, more story line!!

The really exciting part to all this is, 3.4 is the BEGINNING of the new Expansion!!  It hasn't even been announced yet (will be in October during the Square-Enix convention!) but we're already tapping into the beginning of it.  Makes me start to think about what the Expansion will include...

And honestly, after completing the Storyline for the 3.4 update, it sounds like it's going right back to the raw problems... Garlemald Empire and Summoning

But I guess we'll see...

So in the mean time, I just want to share what I got through myself through the 3.4

And FYI, if the title wasn't good enough, again, these are all spoilers so read/look at your own risk!

So now that I've warned you all again what you're getting into...

I can finally say...

That last battle was ridiculous with the Warriors of Darkness... as you can plainly see, I failed it the first time... second time I realized I should really just hit on the healer and keep away from the others so I don't add unnecessary aggro and can complete it in the set amount of time...

And ta-da!

All better!
